Analytical Facility
The Aquatic Geochemistry laboratory maintains and operates a range of instruments for sediment and water quality analysis. For example, we use these instruments to measure solid-phase and dissolved organic and inorganic carbon, dissolved sulfides and polysulphides, ammonium, and soluble reactive phosphorus. We also use an Agilent triple quadrupole ICP-MS to measure dissolved trace elements. In addition, we have access to shared facilities for solid-phase work, including a LabConco freeze-dryer, a CEM Mars-5 preparation microwave, and a Panalytical AERIS X-ray diffractometer.
Preparation laboratory
Our 80 m2 lab is fully equipped with the precise tools needed for trace-clean sediment and water chemistry work, including work under anaerobic conditions.
